Named after the distinct color of its soil (pula in Tagalog means "red"), the town of Pola features more 11,000 hectares of farmlands with vast plantations of coconuts and bananas. Its non-arable areas are dotted with waterfalls, unspoiled beaches, and mangrove forests. The town center is dotted with old houses that takes visitors back to the early 19th century.
