Getting there and around

Nearby attractions

Mt. Saint Paul Karst Mountain Range
5.36 km away

These geologically significant landscapes will delight mountaineers, rock climbers, and nature enthusiasts. Trained guides must be available when exploring these sites. St. Paul Park rangers can likewise assist adventurous travelers. These fascinating creations are situated at Bgy. Cabayugan and Bgy. Tagabinet, Puerto Princesa City. One can take a jeepney bound for Sabang stationed along Malvar Street or one can take a vehicle on hire basis for 2-3 hours.

Ugong Rock Adventures
6.89 km away

Managed and operated by the Tagabinet Ugong Rock Tourism Service Cooperative of Barangay Tagabinet, Ugong Rock Adventures offers several thrilling activities in and around the 50-meter-high, free-standing limestone karst. These include: rock climbing (P200), zip lining (P450-P550), zip biking (P500), and, most recently, base jumping (P250). Safety nets are provided for all the activities and orientations are conducted before beginning. The top of the rock offers a rewarding 360-degree view of the Tagabinet landscape, as well as a glimpse of the highest peak of St. Paul's mountain range, which houses the highest surveyed chamber of the underground river cave. There is also a café in the area that offers fresh fruit shakes. Ugong Rock is still a part of the UNESCO-inscribed property of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. Ugong Rock makes a worthwhile stopover on the way to Sabang.

Sabang Mangrove Paddling and Jungle Trek
7.21 km away

A side trip you definitely shouldn't miss during your stay in Puerto Princesa is the Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour. Located in Sitio Sabang, this protected area is just a 10-minute drive from Sabang Wharf, the jump-off point to Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. A jungle trek through the forest is also an alternative route to the underground river, which costs P200 per head. A cooperative composed of 19 resident members oversees both activities, along with birdwatching, paddleboat learning, and tree-planting. The river paddling tour which lasts from 45 minutes to an hour takes travelers deep into the forest to get up close with century-old mangroves that have grown as high as 30 meters. Expect an encounter with the wildlife that thrive in this area as well, which include several species of snakes, monitor lizards, kingfishers, monkeys, and wild chickens. The tour, paddleboat lessons, and birdwatching costs P350 per head; the tree-planting, on the other hand, is free.
