Tourism brought in by MAD Travel, with the help of the San Felipe LGU and the Circle Hostel, has provided funds for the community to build a tree nursery, construct village infrastructures, and procure carabaos. Through the tour activities and guests’ volunteer work, members of the community are also given the chance to earn by assigning them employable tasks, uplifting not just their financial capacity but also their human dignity.

Who can come

Guests of all ages can attend. If you bring guests who are under 18 years of age, it’ll be the responsibility of the guardian to make sure the activities they participate in are age-appropriate.

Terms and conditions

Frequently asked questions

Reservation Policy
Your reservation is only confirmed once you’ve paid the total amount due for your tour. Cutoff for payments is on Wednesday, 5pm  before the tour.

Check-in and Check-out
You can check-in anytime at Circle Hostel but check-out is always at 12nn.

Where can I leave my stuff in Circle?
There are mid-sized lockers for rent at the Circle Hostel, enough space for your essentials but not big enough to stick your whole bag in. Just make sure to bring a padlock! If you don’t have a padlock, you can also rent one out for 20 pesos.

How safe is the area?
The community is just 1 hour away from the nearest town by foot. The terrain is flat and there are no immediate causes of danger. Our tour guides always make sure to check the weather before going through with a tour. In case of emergency situations, carabaos can take guests to town faster. In more extreme cases, there is also a tricycle available in the community.

Is a Medic or first aid available?
A First Aid Kit is always available during the tour should there be a need to use it.

Is there an age limit?
Anyone of any age are welcome to come along on this tour but we do advise that you assess your health and fitness first before going on the trip. Note that river currents might be strong and that we will be climbing some medium-sized rocks.

What do I need to bring?
A reusable water bottle to keep you hydrated (at least 1L of water is recommended!), an umbrella, a cap, and some sunblock to keep your skin safe from the sun, a small bag to keep your things in (preferably water proof), and your warm, energetic self!

Who to contact on the day of the tour?
Please ask our tour coordinator who your tour guide will be on your chosen date and she will gladly connect you to your assigned tour guide!

Can I park in Circle Hostel? Where can I park?
Yes, you can park in front of Circle Hostel. However, during peak days (like saturdays), expect that there will be a lot of guests who will bring cars. In case the area in front of the hostel is already occupied, there is a pay parking area right beside.

What if I’m early?
Not to worry! We have a common area that’s perfect for chilling, equipped with bean bags, throw pillows, and hammocks. You can go ahead and rest there while waiting.

What if I’m late or I miss my scheduled tour?
Unfortunately, we have a non-refundable policy with our tour. This means that once paid, your attendance is already counted on the tour. Since we coordinate operations with the tribe, we have to ensure that we have a sure number of people going on the tour days before it begins. Your pre-payment allows us and the tribe to prepare for your visit i.e. buy food, ready transportation, etc.

Can I pay in cash when I get there?
Unfortunately, we don’t allow on-the-day payment. Our cut-off for payments is Thursday mornings before the tour. This allows us and the tribe to prepare for your visit i.e. buy food, ready transportation, etc.

I’m a solo traveler, is it okay to join?
Of course! We welcome all kinds of travelers! Whether you’re travelling by group or solo, we guarantee that you’ll make new friends on tour!

I’m pescetarian or vegetarian, can they accommodate food for me on the tour?
Yes! Food served on the tour is a good mix of meat, fish, veggies, and fruits, so you need not worry! Just make sure to let our Tour Coordinator know about your dietary restrictions, especially if you have allergies.

Number of slots per tour?
We have an average of 20 slots per tour. The number might be more or less depending on the situation, but not by much since the community can only handle a handful of guests

What do I need to wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that you are ready to sweat in but will keep you well-protected from the sun! We suggest leggings and a dri-fit top or rashguard. As for footwear, you can wear trek shoes or rubber shoes but keep in mind that we will go through streams and rivers. If you don’t want the soggy feeling of wet, closed shoes, we suggest some thick, comfy sandals or slippers. For extra protection from the sand, you can wear thick socks!
