Erected in honor of GomBurZa’s Mariano Gomes, this monument is a reminder of the vicar forane who rallied against higher ranks to defend the common men in Bacoor. Father Gomes also pioneered the salt industry in Bacoor, resulting in high incomes of the town during the Spanish regime. He also became a teacher to early Bacooreños when he shared his knowledge in playing musical instruments in exchange for duck eggs that would eventually be used as a cement to build churches.
On December 17, 2015, Guarda’s Kusina became the latest addition to the roster of halo-haloestablishments in Barangay Digman. What makes their dessert so special is that they serve three special flavors of halo-halo namely coffee, mocha, and strawberry, sweetened more by the smiles of their patrons.
A halo-halo institution in Bacoor, Original Digman Halo-halo has been serving this delectable dessert since World War II. Framed photographs of famous people who visited the place adorn the walls of their homey restaurant, and at the center is a grand display of the 12 ingredients that made Original Digman's version of halo-halo extra special.
