Aglicay Beach | Things to do in Romblon - Philippines | Things to do in Alcantara-Romblon
|Address:||Aglicay,, Alcantara, Romblon|
Blue swimming crabs, most commonly known as kasag or alimasag, are abundant in the waters of Romblon. This is why in 2015, the livelihood association, Manggagawang Aktibo na Naglalayong Harapin ang Kinabukasan (MANHAK), was established with the help of DSWD-MIMAROPA. They launched the Blue Crab Fattening project, which has helped many fishermen gain additional income to support their family. Today, these blue crabs are so in demand, the farm has been tapped as a major tourism destination in the region. The best time to visit is during low tide, when farmers select the crabs that will be sold in the market. A kilo of crab costs around P200, and buyers can even request to have them cooked for a small fee.
This Unusual stone beach is made up of hundreds of black pebbles and rocks of all shapes and sizes with glittering gem like stones embedded in them.
If you are feeling energetic you may climb the nearby hill for a view over the bay area.
Best time to visit is between March to May
Reaching Tuburan Falls entails a 30-minute hike from Brgy. Tubaran. Along the way, you'll pass through coconut groves and numerous river crossings. It is a fairly easy hike along a well-worn trail, but wearing comfortable footwear is still recommended. Like most falls on Tablas Island, Tuburan is low-level, with numerous layers. The waters flow strongly, distributing itself to pools on various levels. Hearing the sounds of rushing water, it's hard to resist taking a dip in the clear cold pool. The more adventurous ones can venture into the caves by the falls, up to Cayatong, a place that is said to be enchanted by fairies.
