Alcala Livelihood Center and Veggie Noodle Production is an inspiring story of sustainable development. They turn everyday products into more nutritious food. Their products include squash or malunggay (moringa) infused canton noodles and shing-a-ling, a popular Filipino snack. The cooperative that runs the production house is composed of about 35 women, all of them mothers. They also run the livelihood center, which offers seminars to those who want to learn more about vegetable noodle production. The seminar is at P250 for the first two hours and P50 for every succeeding hour. The production house is also open to curious travelers who would like to try and buy their products. Their squash noodles and barbecue squash shing-a-ling are a must try while chitchatting with cooperative members as they share their insights about their products, food, and life.

Tagged as Alcala town’s Boracay, Boraoac Mini EcoPark offers a river for swimming, cliff diving, boating and fishing. Boraoac, coined after Boracay and Barangay Laoac, was part of Agno River. Its share of the river was hailed as the cleanest in Pangasinan in 2014. The prize money of Php50,000 propelled the ecopark project in the area. There is a man-made 12-feet diving spot in the river, which is 4-meter deep. River boating is only at P5 per hour. As for fishing, you should bring your own tools or improvise. The two-hectare land riverbank is still under development. Currently, there are some nipa hut cottages for rent at P200. Entrance fee is free and a medical team is on standby while there are guests. Boraoac is known within Alcala but not among tourists. It is usually a venue for birthdays and reunions of the locals. It is not advisable to visit during the rainy season.
