Another interesting site in Brgy. San Andres is the 2.5 hectare Dragon Fruit farm that grows more than 200 Dragon Fruit plants of all varieties and some flowering plants. Guests of Balungao Hilltop Adventure can get to this spot through an ATV drive at Napudot Road. In a year, this farm yields tons of Dragon Fruits, most of which are sold in the local market, others turned into local products such as ice cream, sorbet, and wine. Indulge in these products while in the farm or enjoy picking Dragon Fruits, either way, visitors can get a real kick out of this fruit farm.
The Integrated Goat Management approach in goat raising was first introduced to the municipality of Balungao as the pilot area in the Philippines on June 26, 2002, sponsored by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD).
Relative to this, the LGU Balungao established its own Goat Production Demonstration Site to showcase the package of technology on raising and to fulfill its mandate in sahring the knowledge and skills leading to a successful goat entreprise to interested individual or group.
The LGU Goat Production Demonstration Site of Balungao is open to Lakbay-Aral activity from Monday to Sunday, starting at 7AM to 6PM. In case the interested person or group wants to have a lecture, all they have to do is send a formal request address to the Municipal Mayor thru the office of the Municipal Agriculturish. The topics to be discussed in the lecture are: Grazing Management, Disease Management, Breeding Management, Feeding Management, and Waste Management.
St. Joseph Parish Church of Balungao was erected in 1944 but the present building is a reconstruction generously financed and supported by parishioners and devotees. The Parish Church is not as spacious as most Parish Churches but the interior is equally polished with notable sacred statues and images on the sanctuary. The façade is made of bricks and cement with a bell tower on its left, a narrow upper terrace in front, and a wooden entrance door that’s almost at the roadside.
