St. Joseph Parish Church of Balungao was erected in 1944 but the present building is a reconstruction generously financed and supported by parishioners and devotees. The Parish Church is not as spacious as most Parish Churches but the interior is equally polished with notable sacred statues and images on the sanctuary. The façade is made of bricks and cement with a bell tower on its left, a narrow upper terrace in front, and a wooden entrance door that’s almost at the roadside.
Balungao’s administrative urban landscape stands in the town’s municipal compound that’s been existing since 1815. Over the years, the compound has faced various restorations and to date, it contains a mini-park, gymnasium, and the Municipal Hall. The exterior of the municipal building is concrete with dirty white paint and chocolate brown accents. It has an arched entrance way bearing some ornamental brickwork and small front building landscapes. Drop by the town hall and gain some tips and history from the tourism office before taking on a memorable Balungao adventure.
Another interesting site in Brgy. San Andres is the 2.5 hectare Dragon Fruit farm that grows more than 200 Dragon Fruit plants of all varieties and some flowering plants. Guests of Balungao Hilltop Adventure can get to this spot through an ATV drive at Napudot Road. In a year, this farm yields tons of Dragon Fruits, most of which are sold in the local market, others turned into local products such as ice cream, sorbet, and wine. Indulge in these products while in the farm or enjoy picking Dragon Fruits, either way, visitors can get a real kick out of this fruit farm.
