Housed in the two-storey Concepcion Mansion, Pasig City Museum is a patchwork of art pieces, artifacts, and memorabilia bearing the history of Pasig and its people. The mansion was designed after neo-Castilian architecture. The corkscrew columns, colonnaded terraces, ornamental plasterwork and fringes, and tiled roof are an attraction in itself, showcasing the architectural heritage of the city. Inside, the museum is loosely divided into collections, among the highlights are Mutya ng Pasig, Asemblea Magna, and Nagsabado ng Pasig, all found on the first floor. The second floor displays the museum's permanent collections, including the Natural Science Collection, Comparative Sites & Landmarks, Philippine Coins & Paper Money, and Valentin Cruz Room, which features memorabilia from the Katipunan general who led the first victory of the 1986 Revolution in Pasig.

Dimas-alang Bakery (Di ko Akalain Biscuit & Brazo de Mercedes)
Attraction
0.29 km away

This is a 100-year old bakery, founded in 1919 by Ambrosio Lozada, the father of the internationally known violinist Carmencita Lozada and painter-printmaker and singer Manolo Lozada. The bakery’s name – which means “untouchable” - was the pen name of Philippine hero Jose Rizal in the publication La Solidaridad. Pasig’s first known panaderia continues to sell well-loved Filipino breads made the traditional way, using a pugon or wood-fired oven, such as pandesal, bicho bicho, pan de coco, monay, and Spanish breads. Today, they have also become known for their giant Brazo de Mercedez – a rolled cake made from a sheet of soft meringue with custard filling. They also invented a square biscuit called Di Ko Akalain (translated means “I did not expect this”), a recipe that their bakers stumbled upon when they made a mistake with one of their recipes but unexpectedly found it Delicious.
Specialties: PANDESAL, DI KO AKALAIN, BRAZO DE MERCEDES

Traditional Balut-making in Pateros
Attraction
1.38 km away

Pateros, Manila has been closely associated with Balut for the longest time. Balut, the fear-factor Filipino delicacy of fertilized duck egg, has been taunting foreigners for a taste of its delectable soup and of course, the duck embryo. This duck-raising lone municipality in Manila got its name from ducks, also called ‘pato’ or its other industry, shoe-making.

Kalderetang Itik
Attraction
1.84 km away

Kaldereta is a Filipino beef stew using cow’s meat, tomato sauce and liver spread. In Pateros, the meat is duck, specifically itik, a smaller-than-usual brown duck, not the white variety which is called pato. Unlike other kaldereta recipes, the duck meat here is fried first until golden brown, creating an even more flavorful meat for the stew. Using itik also makes for a very aromatic kaldereta with very flavorful meat whose soup is almost like a sauce, thanks to the incorporation of liver spread. It is an excellent savory dish that is popular both during town festivities called fiestas and simply as home-cooked dinner fare.
Specialties: KALDERETANG ITIK
