Bulusan Lake is the tranquil scene that welcomes nature lovers at the Bulusan Volcano Natural Park. Its deep emerald waters is the first to catch attention; a glassy surface mirroring the nature that surrounds it. The dense rainforest around its perimeter is the next one to impress where upon giving it more attention reveals the diversity of its vegetation. Then finally, near the side of the lake are bursts of color in the form of kayaks, canoes, and boat bicycles. This is the postcardable image that earned Bulusan Lake the title "Switzerland of the Orient", and yet this impressive masterpiece is just the opening act to the many natural wonders sprawled across 3,673 hectares of protected area.
Arellano Farm is a secluded 100-hectare island found along Nagsipit River. The island is home to a community of 24 families who farm and manage the entire island. The farm is host to a number of activities such as camping, local immersion, and educational tours. The area has been used a few times for corporate events such as leadership training and team building. This area is perfect for a seclusion getaway or retreat. Visitors are advised to corss the river during high tide as the boat can get stuck in shallow portions during low tide. Arellano Farm is a fantastic fusion of tourism and local immersion for those looking for a unique experience in the Sorsogon area.
Balay Buhay sa Uma is all about life rooted in nature. The resort is a 3-hectare property tucked in the foothills of Mt. Bulusan where guests can enjoy quiet garden walks, organic meals, and educational activities related to agriculture and stingless bee farming. The intent is simple: to help one detox by staying away from modern life's distractions like technology and processed food; and instead paying more attention to living things like flowers, trees, and insects. An overnight stay treats vacationers to simple but elegant cottage accommodations. Additional amenities include a multi-purpose hall for events, a restaurant, and a small store that sells honey products produced by their hardworking bee colonies.
