Cuartel De Santa Lucia used to house Artilleriade Montaña the Spanish Artillery Regiment and office of the Guardia Civil Veterans. Later, it became the first headquarters of the Philippine Constabulary in 1901. In 1904 it was also the building of the Officer’s school and served as the building for several government offices when the Officer’s school moved to Baguio to become the Philippine Military Academy.It also faced the wrath of the 1945 Battle of Manila and it lay in ruins before the facade of the Cuartel was rebuilt in 1998 by the Intramuros Administration.

Also known as No. 1 Victoria Street, this tunnel-like passage with a built-in drainage canal that empties out to the moat surrounding the walls,  that moat was then drained and turned into a golf course by the Americans.The Baluartillo makes the perfect transport system for firearms and ammunition to Reducto de San Pedro. Atop it also sits the headquarters of Gen. Douglas MacArthur when he was appointed as the commander of the United States Army Forces in the Far East (USAFFE).

Originally built to be an added fortification, this lone pentagon structure located on the outskirts of the wall is connected directly to Baluartillo de San Jose as a storeroom for ammunition and firearms. The Reducto is specifically built to make transport of ammunition easier, with custom-built ramps at the side of the structure leading to the parapet. It has also had its own cannonball deposit, and gun emplacements look out on the parapet. The Reducto is closed for the public but it can be seen from afar from the Baluartillo de San Jose and some parts of the wall nearby.
