|Address:||21 Rizal St., Brgy. Kanluran, Naic, Cavite|
Naic Church, officially known as the Diocesan Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, is one of the largest churches in the Philippines. The parish was established in 1796 but the construction of the first stone church started in 1835. The architecture is distinctly earthquake baroque, a style common among Spanish Period churches in the country. Neo-gothic elements are incorporated as well. Before being taken over by the Dominicans, the Church of Naic was headed mostly by secular Filipino clergy, the most famous of whom was Padre Modesto de Castro. He wrote the Tagalog novel Urbana at Feliza, which became a bestseller at the time. Located just outside the Casa Hacienda de Naic, the church is a pilgrim site particularly during Lent. A rosary garden beside the church displays a series of tableaus depicting the Stations of the Cross. Visitors can also check out the museum at one side of the church. The museum displays Marian vestments, paintings, and statues along the staircase up to the second floor.
Casa Hacienda de Naic is historical for two momentous events in Philippine Revolution. In April 1897, Andres Bonifacio and his allies met here to create the Naic Military Agreement. They sought to oppose Emilio Aguinaldo's government which was initiated during the Tejeros Convention a month earlier. When Andres Bonifacio and his brother were arrested for treason, they were brought to Casa Hacienda and jailed in a small, dark room under the stairs known as the bartolina. The holding cell is still intact today and open to visitors. Casa Hacienda de Naic was converted into an elementary school in 1922.
Now converted into a museum, this antique house was where Andres Bonifacio, leader of the Philippine Revolution, and his brother Procopio were tried for execution in 1897. Built in 1889, the house is made of wood and adobe, patterned after Filipino-Spanish architecture. The first floor displays tarpaulins that tell the story of Andres Bonifacio, the Katipunan, and the Philippine-Spanish Revolution. The second floor has several rooms displaying a diorama of the trial court, framed flags used by the Katipunan, and Katipunan-related paintings by amateurs. Two other rooms house a library and secret letters sent and received by Andres Bonifacio. The house was turned into a museum in 1999 by the National Historical Institute.
