Millenium Tree | Things to do in Baler-Aurora

Millenium Tree (1) Millenium Tree (2)
Aurora Baler 1
Located in the town of Maria Aurora, this seemingly hibernating monstrosity has thick creepers. Visitors may enter the wide hollowed chamber at its center canopied by the hanging gnarled roots. In Filipino folklore, Balete trees are known to be home for mythical creatures. In reality though, these trees are strangler figs which attach themselves to a host tree, which dies during the growth process of the Balete. According to carbon data, the Millennium Tree is approximately 600-years old.
