The Apayao Provincial Capitol is where the governor and his constituents perform their duties and responsibilities. It sits on a hill that overlooks a small man-made park. During afternoons, residents of all ages can be seen hanging around and relaxing under the surrounding trees. A few can also be seen playing basketball in the newly constructed gymnasium just a few minutes away from the Capitol. At times of calamity, this gym is the town's designated evacuation center.

Lussok Cave and Underground River
Attraction
7.63 km away

From its somber beginnings as a refuge for Japanese soldiers and native insurgents, Lussok Cave has metamorphosed into one of Luna's most well-loved attractions. The tour starts with a brief 200-meter boat ride on the enchanting azure waters. Upon entering the cave, glimmering limestone formations loom over the pitch black river. Faint streaks of sunlight seep from a hole, or lussok in their vernacular, caused by war bombings further down the route. Thrill-seeking visitors can opt to end the tour by spelunking their way out of the cave.

Dupag Rock Formation
Attraction
10.49 km away

Dupag Rock Formation is a cluster of jagged limestone boulders 7 to 8 feet high. Climbing each one is no easy feat, so it is highly suggested that each  guest don the proper footwear and protective gear to avoid accidents. From the highest peak, aptly named Father Rock, a sweeping view of the neighboring fields, rivers, and valleys can be seen. Its unique topography made it the preferred hiding place of locals and insurgents during past wars and guerilla uprisings. Reaching the labyrinth requires a 30 to 45-minute trek up a hill where various fruit-bearing trees—chesa, namot, and tebbeg, to name a few—serve as shade and shelter to visitors and different species of birds.

Manacota Underground River
Attraction
10.83 km away

Shooting the rapids is a common attraction all over the country, but have you ever tried it inside a cave? Travelers who want to try out this extreme activity are accompanied by a couple of boatmen wherein one steers through narrow crevices with a single blade paddle while the other holds on to the stern to keep the boat balanced. The river spans 700m of a crystal-clear water in Marag Valley. On a good day, various species of fish can be sighted swimming along such as tilapia, carp, eel, and palilang. The water level depends on the weather conditions—it can rise as high as 30 to 40 feet during heavy rains and storms, which explains the presence of lodged trunks and branches at the cave's ceiling.
