Calanasan is the hometown of the father of Apayao and revered Isnag hero, the great Elias K. Bulut. The EKB Memorial Complex was erected in 2017 in memory of the late visionary. Conveniently located in front of the municipal hall which is also just a few kilometers from his final resting place, it now serves as a venue for cultural performances and other municipal events.
