Located in Capintalan Carranglan, the place is about 5 hectares and accessible to any kind of transportation along Maharlika road. The place has a monument of General Dalton with the historical accounts of World War II.

Balete Pass, formerly known as Dalton Pass, is the only access between Pampanga and Cagayan Valley. It was named in honor of Gen. Dalton who was shot by a sniper’s bullet during the liberation of the province. One of the attractions is the Dalton Pass Park and Tourism Complex. It has a picnic area overlooking the zigzag roads of Santa Fe. Also, one may experience the zip line from one mountain to another mountain.
Set against the backdrop of Caraballo mountains, Puyao River is a beautiful montage of clear flowing water, boulders, and green slopes. It is a popular relaxation area where locals would usually bring their own food and rent one of the straw cottages set up on the riverbank. Be warned, however, that this place is located in a rather remote part of San Nicolas. It is not particularly far from the town proper in terms of distance, but the absence of vehicle-friendly roads makes it difficult to reach. It is actually the same case for many of the town’s attractions. Thus, tourists are encouraged to get in touch with the local tourism office when planning an excursion around the area.
