Batangas Lobo 157
One of the reasons to visit Lobo, aside from its beaches, is a historical landmark – the Malabrigo Lighthouse, also known as Faro de Punta de Malabrigo. It is situated on top of a hill in the town of Lobo, overlooking Mindoro and Verde Islands. The Malabrigo Lighthouse screams simplistic beauty, with the whole structure said to be inspired by Victorian architecture. It is a cylindrical brick tower rising at 56 feet (17.1 meters), equipped with a solar-powered halogen lamp that flashes three white lights every 15 seconds. The cylindrical brick tower was designed by Guillermo Brockman in 1891 and was built by Jose Garcia in 1896. It also has a single-storey keeper’s house and a pavilion made of wood and bricks. It was built primarily to guide the ships traversing Tayabas Bay and the eastern end of Verde Island Passage. You get a nice view of the ocean and the winds feel real refreshing here. As far as old lighthouses go, it looks like it is still very functional.

Sweet Camias
7.93 km away

A bite of this variety will most likely blow your mind as you can definitely smell and taste the familiar flavor of the Camias fruit but without the acerbic bite. It's also quite aromatic and can be tossed in a fresh garden salad or eaten on its own as a healthy snack.

Sweet Tamarind
7.93 km away

Lobo is recognized as the main producer of tamarind candy in Batangas province. The mountains of Lobo are lined with tamarind trees, many of them over a century-old. The locals harvest the ripened fruits, lay them to dry under the sun, and cook them in brown sugar. Tamarinds are very seasonal, and they're usually available either on April to October or January to May. You can get this seedless or with seeds, and Lobo's sweet tamarind will not disappoint. You would be surprised how something that's usually so sour can taste really sweet.

Tamarind Wine
7.93 km away

The abundance of tamarind trees in Lobo brought forth the Tamarind wine, a product of the locals' creativity and eagerness to share their delicacies with visitors. It is a swee-tasting wine made from fermented tamarind juice and would pair well with a slightly sweet snack.
